Write your name and the date on the wand container. Wash your hands with warm water to encourage circulation and dry them off. Wipe the top of your finger with the alcohol-free cleansing wipe and allow it to dry. Twist and pull the cover from the lancet. Place the lancet against the top of your finger and press the yellow button firmly. With the sensation of like a brief scratch, a sterile pin will puncture the skin. Stand up, hold your hand below your waist and massage your finger towards the pinprick to produce a large droplet of blood If you have difficulty producing enough blood to fill the wand, try repeating the prick on another finger with the second lancet. Each lancet is single-use and will not work again. Holding the wand by the plastic cover, dip the exposed tip into the blood and allow it to draw up. Slide the plastic cover along the wand and invert it in order to completely soak the wand. It is important that the wand is fully saturated and red, this contains the precise amount of blood required to be tested. Place the saturated wand back into its container immediately after drawing the blood. Place all items, including both lancets into the kit box.
